Art statement

From a physical place emerges group identity. We design our cities; then our cities design our lives, in an endless reciprocal cycle. The Topographicals are driven by that intertwined connection between place, culture, art, and identity. They’re a disquisition of contemporary mixed media techniques and the relationship of various techniques to particular localities.

The Topographicals are a search of a place bound identity in an era defined by digital technologies. They’re documenting of a world that’s changing at a faster pace than we could catch on to. 

My practice is interdisciplinary Visual Anthropology, Mixed Media Art, Industrial Design, Architecture, Fabrication, and Urban Planning. My process employs Google Earth, AutoCAD drafting, laser cutting, 3D Rhino modeling and other contemporary technologies. The process is a byproduct and is documentative of our times.
